The Russian Foreign Ministry vowed to protect its diplomats working in Kiev. Recently, the embassy has been attacked by radicals.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow will not allow illegal actions to be carried out against Russian diplomats and their families in Kiev and has restricted them from leaving the embassy’s grounds, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

“There are provisions and supplies there. We have strongly restricted [diplomats and their families] from leaving and going into the city, especially if there is no strong need in line with their work," Lavrov said during an interview on REN-TV television.

"I think that we shouldn’t worry about our diplomats and the members of their families. We actively support them and will not allow any illegal actions to happen to these individuals.”

Police in Kiev earlier detained three individuals who were involved in throwing several Molotov cocktails at the Russian Embassy in Kiev.
