KIEV (Sputnik) — Berlin expects to reach an understanding on holding local elections in eastern Ukraine’s Donbass region during the Normandy Format ministerial meeting on Ukrainian reconciliation on March 3 in Paris, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Tuesday.
"I think we will take resolute steps on March 3… For example, the adoption of the law on local elections in the Donbass region, I think that during a meeting in Paris we will reach some necessary compromises and we will agree on a common position," Steinmeier said during a press conference in Kiev.
