LONDON (Sputnik) — Russia will continue taking active part in international efforts on stabilizing situations in Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan, Grushko said in an address to the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies in London.
Moscow is also an active participant of the strategic stability and nonproliferation processes, the envoy added.
Grushko pointed out that NATO will commit another mistake by extending an invitation for the former Yugoslav republic of Montenegro to join the alliance.
NATO carries out a wrong policy to establish dividing lines in Europe and classify countries as privileged and unprivileged, risking Montenegro’s entry into NATO to become another mistake, Grushko said at the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies (RUSI) in London.
The Western alliance invited Montenegro to start accession talks toward NATO membership on December 2, despite deep divisions on the matter inside the Adriatic nation.
