BEIJING (Sputnik) — The upcoming G20 summit is scheduled to take place in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou in September. The summit is set to focus on financial stability, international trade and sustainable development.
"China took over the rotating G20 presidency on December 1, 2015, and a series of various meetings have already been started… As a department which coordinates trade and investment cooperation, the Ministry of Commerce will host the G20 trade ministers meetings July 9 —10 this year in Shanghai," Shen Danyang told reporters.
Before the summit kicks off, China is expected to host various G20 ministerial meetings.
The G20 is an international forum for the leaders and senior financial official of the world's 20 major economies. The 10th G20 summit was held in Turkey in November 2015.
