MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Cooperation between Russia and Turkey in the fight against terrorism is currently impossible and more of a fantasy than reality, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said.

“The presupposition of any possible joint actions with the Turkish side in the fight against terrorism or even Ankara’s rethinking of its line on terrorists in Syria or Iraq in these conditions looks more like a fantasy than reality,” Syromolotov told RIA Novosti in an interview.

Relations between Moscow and Ankara have deteriorated after a Turkish jet shot down a Russian Su-24 bomber in November.
