Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said Saturday that any ground operation in Syria without Damascus' approval is an "act of aggression."

On Thursday, the Saudi Arabian Defense Ministry said it was prepared to deploy ground troops to Syria to fight Daesh. On Friday, the White House welcomed the Riyadh's announcement.

Later, Bahraini ambassador to Britain Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed al-Khalifa said in a statement that the kingdom would commit troops to operate "in concert with Saudis." He added that the United Arab Emirates, a member of the Saudi-dominated Gulf Cooperation Council, was also ready to commit troops.

"Any ground intervention on Syrian land without the agreement of the Syrian government is an act of aggression… we regret that those [who invade] will return to their countries in coffins," Reuters quoted Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem as saying.

The Syrian foreign minister also said during a press conference in Damascus that Riyadh-formed Syrian opposition delegation at the Geneva peace talks suspended the negotiations after Syrian army's advances.

"The opposition delegation from Riyadh decided to quit the dialogue after hearing about the advances made by the Syrian army."

A Saudi-backed opposition group walked out of the negotiations in Geneva on Wednesday, after which UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura announced the intra-Syrian talks were put on a three-week pause.

The Syrian leadership has requested the United Nations to present a list of people who will represent the opposition at the Geneva talks.

"We demanded the UN special envoy for Syria [Staffan de Mistura] to give us the list of people with whom we will negotiate, since we do not intend to speak to ghosts."

Muallem also said that the ceasefire in Syria cannot be reached until the country's borders with Turkey and Jordan are taken under control.

It's an act of war. Pure and simple. It will take place not to fight terrorists but in order to steal land and natural resources.

Syria and Russia would have every right to bomb those "foreign" columns of terrorists allies.

Damascus should task Russia with defending Syria from ground threats.
Believe me . NO ONE will be ready.
But the more is delayed, the worst. The best is to go to UN and denounce the threat.
Then ask Russia to stop any ground operations.
NO ONE in it's right mind want to tackle Russia on a ground operation. Except the exceptionalit's, that think they superior and the universe will aid them.

That is it? That simple word "aggression"? Who care and who fear about that simple word? No one. They already accepted that words way before the war started including recruiting stage to training to secret arming to open war, so now what? If Syris capable, Syria live to see the next day. Syria weak, the end of a chapter.

There is an Iskander umbrella over the turkish entrance into Syria, with the S400 providing a no-fly zone over the batteries. Its going to be a Georgia dejavu all over again, all over but shouting in two days. What Putin is looking for is to nuke the airbase where that pilot who shot down the SU24 lives, the turkeys may just give him an excuse. No Europeans (or Americans) are going to lose sleep over a few filthy turk back stabbers sent to Hell early.

After the first shock, the crooks around Israel and the USA try another maneuver to jump over the Russia-China-VETO about the USrael's intervention in Syria.
Sorry to say that but Putin is moving too slow in syria and Assad was left TOO LONG alone to heve the Army to do all things quick.

Some hesbollah and a handfull Iranians won't do it if TURKEY and the Saudi-Connection jumps in.
Sorry but.. either Assad gets a lot of WEAPONS and the Russians, the Iranians and the CHINESE go in there with some ten of thousand of high-equiped men -to CRUSH any f*king Wahhabi-Usraeli resistance in Syria, or the Russki-Bear will get some warm-p*ss-result and "negotiations" and bla-blaa-blaaa from NATO-side. and AGAIN the USraelis will be in offensive, AGAIN they will decide about Syria.
We see the "neither-nor" story in Donbas and the fascist-Usraeli gangs destroying Ukraine.

cast235, You are right, going to the UN even though it is useless as a precaution to have a witness that Russia and Syria will be ready to bomb any troop that enters into Syria without being invited. I think Russia knows that any attack coming from outside of Syria will be their target not just Syria.
