A meeting between Russian authorities and the League of Arab States is set to be held in Moscow in February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

ABU DHABI (Sputnik) — Another meeting, between Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council, is planned to be held in the spring, according to the minister.

"We agreed to continue the dialogue between Russia and Arab states. There are two main formats for such talks. In late February we are expecting our friends from the region for a meeting of foreign ministers of Russia and the Arab League in Moscow," Lavrov said following talks with his UAE counterpart.

The meeting with the heads of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the League of Arab Nations will be held on February 26 in Moscow, a spokesman for the League of Arab Nations confirmed Tuesday.

“I can confirm that the Russian-LAN ministerial meeting will be held on February 26 in Moscow. This will be the third Russian-Arab forum that is held every two years,” the spokesman told RIA Novosti.
