Russia and European countries should work together to improve relations, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius told Sputnik on Thursday.

DAVOS (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, French President Francois Hollande said that Paris would like to enhance cooperation with Russia in the fight against terrorism.

"We still have work to do, and we need to work together," Fabius said, asked whether France sees the possibility of improvement of Russia-Europe relations.

Russia’s relations with the 28-nation bloc soured in 2014 over the Ukrainian crisis. The European Union, along with the United States and other Western countries, imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow, citing its alleged interference in Ukraine's internal affairs. Moscow has repeatedly denied the allegations.
