Evidence has been revealed in newly released Hillary Clinton emails leading to the notion that she knew about ethnic cleansing conducted by Libyan rebels, but continued to support them.

The recently released emails, from Clinton's tenure as US Secretary of State, were released by the State Department on New Year's Eve. Searching for reasons to understand the failure of the 2011 war on Libya by the US and NATO and as a justification for laying the blame upon Clinton, Brad Hoff at the Levant Report scoured some 3,000 emails, learning that Clinton, as the chief diplomat of the United States, was well aware of the savagery of the Libyan rebels.

In a March 27, 2011, email, Clinton's trusted advisor, Sidney Blumenthal, informed her that a Libyan rebel commander told him that, "his troops continue to summarily execute all foreign mercenaries captured in the fighting." Since no trials were reported conducted to determine who is a "foreign mercenary," it is alleged that people were labeled as mercenaries by the color of their skin.

Emails reveal that Secretary Clinton was explicitly told that Libyan rebel forces were carrying out racially based massacres of black Africans. During one documented atrocity, the rebels forced 30,000 residents of Tawergha, who were descendants of black slaves, to flee the town. Those captured were subjected to abuse, including beatings, rape, and torture leading to death, according to a 2011 report from Human Rights Watch.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton led the charge for a war in Libya, based on the claim of a potential massacre in Benghazi. As for the ethnic cleansing and massacres that occurred when NATO and the US empowered Libyan rebels to overthrow Gaddafi, she categorically denied the accusations.
