Putin Counts on 'Fruitful' Russia-UK Cooperation in Ensuring Int'l Security

Russian President Vladimir Putin counts on Russia-UK cooperation in countering global security threats and solving international problems in 2016, the Kremlin press service said Wendesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In his Christmas and New Year address to UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Queen Elizabeth II, Putin said he "expects fruitful cooperation between Russia and the United Kingdom in the upcoming year," the Kremlin press service said.

The Russian leader also expressed hope there would be "effective cooperation between the two countries in addressing topical issues on the European and international agenda, in countering threats and challenges to global security."
