Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will address the nation at 14:00 GMT Wednesday possibly announcing his resignation, Georgian national television reported.

TBILISI (Sputnik) – Local media outlets indicated earlier Garibashvili planned to resign to lead the Georgian Dream coalition, which he chairs, campaign office.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has been tapped as his successor.

The government office has declined to comment on Garibashvili’s anticipated resignation, while a ruling parliamentary majority lawmaker said it was being debated in parliament.
