MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the statement, Lavrov said that Russia and Mexico were united by the closeness of views on multipolar world and similar response to the global challenges.
"Taking into consideration the 125th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the United Mexican States that is celebrated on December 11, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Mexican Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu exchanged congratulatory messages," the statement said.
Massieu said that the anniversary of diplomatic relations indicated friendly relations between the two countries, the statement added.
Both ministers expressed their readiness to strengthen ties between Russia and Mexico.
