No Business, Contacts With Terrorists Should Be Allowed - Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that every civilized state was obliged to contribute to the defeat of terrorism.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — No contacts or business with terrorists should be allowed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.

Putin said, addressing the Russian Parliament, the Federal Assembly, that every civilized state was obliged to contribute to the defeat of terrorism.

"This means no shelter for the extremists, no double standards, no contacts with any terrorist organizations. No attempts to use them in one’s own goals, no criminal bloody business with terrorists," Putin stressed.

He emphasized the assertion that terrorist organizations profit from illicit oil trade in Syria and finance attacks, including those in France, Lebanon and Mali.

On Wednesday, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov claimed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his family are directly involved in the illegal oil business conducted by the Islamic State (ISIL) group, known as Daesh in the Arab world. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia would hand over to the United Nations and all interested countries solid proof of Turkey's involvement in illicit oil trade with terrorists.

Iraq’s Defense Ministry said on Wednesday its government was ready to file a protest with the UN Security Council once it was proven that Turkey is involved in the illegal oil trade with Daesh, a group outlawed in Russia.
