Russia hopes that its Western partners will change their positions in regard to forming a broad coalition and work with Russia in the fight against terrorism.

MANILA (Sputnik) – Moscow hopes that its Western partners will change their positions in regard to forming a broad coalition and work with Russia in the fight against terrorism, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Thursday.

“I’m surprised of how it’s possible now to sacrifice such complex issues, meaning in regard to interests of humankind, because we’re talking about a war against terror, a war that was waged against the entire civilized world, and in this situation agreements need to be made and not making attempts to figure out who benefits from this, should it be done with the Russians or not because the Russians aren’t behaving correctly, and so on…,“ Medvedev said at a press conference after the APEC Summit in Manila.

“I hope that in regard to what’s going on, the position of our partners will change and provide for the formation of an anti-terrorist coalition, a broad one that will unite the countries that are interested in eradicating terror in the Middle East and destroying the Islamic State as a phenomenon,” Medvedev said.
