The Russia-China intergovernmental energy cooperation commission should lend itself to constructive dialogue, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Monday at its launch in the Chinese capital of Beijing.

BEIJING (Sputnik) – Medvedev is to visit China in the latter half of December, where he and Premier Li Keqiang are set to kick off the year of Russian and Chinese media.

“I see that you are in great form, so the conversation will be very constructive and intensive,” Dvorkovich told his colleague, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli.

Zhang expressed confidence in the commission members’ ability to work out the “minor” differences and said the ongoing session would serve as a preparatory step for Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s upcoming state visit.

“We are ready to make every effort to resolve these issues,” Zhang said.

Russian delegates to the commission are represented by Deputy Energy Minister for international affairs Anatoly Yanovsky, as well as heads of Russia’s gas, electricity, aluminum and metallurgy companies.
