WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Members of the US House of Representatives have nominated Congressman Paul Ryan to become the next speaker, US House Republican Conference said in a Twitter message on Wednesday.

“House Republicans have elected @PRyan [Paul Ryan] of Wisconsin as their candidate for Speaker of the House,” the message said.
