    Russian FM Lavrov Speaks to Press After Talks With Jordanian Counterpart

    The two countries' top diplomats discussed the ongoing situation in Syria and the recent escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian confrontation.

    Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke to the press Friday following his talks with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh.

    "We have […] agreed on a military level to create a mechanism in Amman, where representatives of defense ministries could coordinate action against terrorism on a daily, professional basis," Lavrov told reporters.

    The minister added that he had offered the United States and Saudi Arabia to make use of the new Russian-Jordanian coordination mechanism.
