"As for the work of the [OSCE] Special Monitoring Mission, we confirmed today our mutual interest, both Russia's and the Secretary General's, in its number being [increased] to the already approved level of 1,000 observers," Lavrov told reporters at a joint press conference with Zannier.
"Currently, around 550 people are working there. There should be more, especially as this mission now takes on additional tasks of verifying the withdrawal of light weapons of up to 100 mm caliber," the minister added.
Kiev and the self-proclaimed Donbass people's republics reached a deal to withdraw weaponry of a caliber of less than 100mm from the line of contact in late September. According to the deal, the sides have 41 days to fully withdraw such weapons.
