MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Nothing has been scheduled as yet for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan but arrangements could be made by the respective ministries, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"Right now the answer is no. This will be coordinated through diplomatic channels," Peskov said, answering a question on whether a meeting between the two leaders had been scheduled.
Peskov said that in theory there is a meeting planned between Putin and Erdogan, but nothing is on the agenda for the immediate future.
On Wednesday, Russia started carrying out pinpoint airstrikes on IS command and logistics networks, as well as on the infrastructure needed to equip suicide bombers in Syria, following an official request from Damascus.
On Monday, the Russian ambassador to Ankara was summoned by the Turkish Foreign Ministry over claims that a Russian aircraft had violated Turkey's airspace near Syria on Saturday.
