    Vladimir Putin and Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed Syrian crisis and joint effort in fighting terrorism, in a phone talk.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin and King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed Syrian crisis and joint effort in fighting terrorism, in a phone talk on Saturday, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

    "Leaders of the two states exchanged views on the issues of regional security, particularly in terms of finding ways to resolve the situation in Syria and the establishment of effective international cooperation in the fight against so-called Islamic State and other terrorist groups," the statement read.

    The Kremlin press service also said that the two leaders also discussed escalation of Palestinian-Israeli conflict over clashes in East Jerusalem’s Temple Mount complex.

    "The issues of Palestinian-Israeli settlement were discussed, taking into account the tense situation over the holy sites in East Jerusalem," the statement read.
