MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The unfolding European refugee crisis is an internal issue of the bloc, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"It is evident that this is a big issue of the EU countries. Overall, any comments are inappropriate here. This is an internal issue of the European Union," Peskov said.
According to Peskov, Russia is not experiencing any serious issue with refugees.
"This situation with refugees is more of a situation which is a very urgent problem for the EU countries," the spokesman said.
The European Union is grappling with a refugee crisis as hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants, mainly from Syria and other parts of the Middle East and North Africa, have arrived at the borders of EU member states.
According to the EU border agency Frontex, more than 340,000 refugees and migrants were detected at EU borders between January and July 2015.
