MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The sanctions policy the United States conducts against other countries is pushing the world into a dead-end, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Friday.

"The place the Washignton is pushing the world into, I mean sanctions, rejection of each other, the lack of dialogue, it is not a transit into some new state, this road has no other way, it is a dead-end," Zakharova told the Gazeta.ru portal.

According to the spokeswoman, the new agenda will be formed and new possibilities for development of relations will be created when the rest of the international community understands this fact.

The US-Russian relations deteriorated greatly amid the Ukrainian crisis.

The United States, alongside the European Union and a number of their allies, imposed a series of restrictive measures on Russia due to Moscow’s alleged involvement in Kiev’s regional dispute with independence militias. Russia firmly denies the allegations.
