Leader of the public movement “Ukraine’s Choice” Viktor Medvedchuk ironically commented on via his Facebook account the reports that Washington would informally attend the gas talks between the EU and Ukraine.

“The American side will be represented by the US government. This is a bilateral format with US delegates participating informally," said the Minister of Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn.

Medvedchuk has been repeatedly calling attention to the fact that the new government of Ukraine is not capable of making independent decisions and taking responsibility.

On July 1, 2015, Ukraine, which expected a price of around $200 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, rejected Moscow’s price offer of $247 and suspended all gas imports from Russia. Currently, the country relies entirely on reverse gas supplies from the EU.
