MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Moldovan counterpart Valeriu Strelet discussed bilateral economic cooperation in a phone conversation on Friday, the Russian government’s press service said in a statement.

"The current issues of bilateral relations in the areas of trade, the economy, energy and agroindustry were discussed," the statement read.

Medvedev pointed to the importance of the Russian-Moldovan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. The two ministers supported the idea of renewing the bilateral commission’s work.

Strelet invited his Russian counterpart to visit Moldova during the telephone conversation, according to Moldovan government press service.
