Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday that emotional reactions with regard to the Iran nuclear deal should be put on hold.

TASHKENT (Sputnik) — The statement comes after Israeli authorities immediately condemned Tuesday's nuclear agreement between Iran and P5+1 group, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deeming it a "historical mistake."

"Such emotional statements about the deal that has been reached should probably be postponed until all states have examined the agreement. It contains a reliable, fair balance of interests, which provides not only compliance with the nuclear nonproliferation regime, but also strengthens it," Lavrov told reporters.

The Israeli Security Cabinet said on Tuesday that it had unanimously rejected the deal on the Iranian nuclear program agreed between the P5+1 group of international negotiators and Tehran earlier in the day, and did not consider itself bound by its terms.

Israel also warned that by lifting the sanctions and unlocking $100 billion of Iranian funds, Iran would be empowered to enhance its support of terrorism.
