US to Remain Iran’s Enemy Despite Nuclear Deal – Iranian Military Official

Even if P5+1 and Tehran inked a final nuclear deal, the US would definitely remain Iran’s enemy, a senior Iranian military official claimed.

Iran should not be optimistic about relations with the US, although the agreement over Tehran’s nuclear program may be signed in the next few days, the Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Raza Pourdastan said to reporters.

“The US might arrive at some agreements with us within the framework of the Group 5+1, but we should never hold a positive view over the enemy,” Iran’s Fars News Agency quoted the general.

The General said that Iran would “never be friends with US,” and added that the confrontation between two countries is fundamental.

“Our enmity with them is over the principles and is rooted, because we are after the truth and nations' freedom, but they seek exploiting nations and putting them in chains,” the Brigadier General continued.

Iran and the six world powers, including Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, are working on the deal ensuring that Tehran's nuclear program will be peaceful in exchange for relief of sanctions. Negotiators will continue talks this week in Vienna, Austria.
