The P5+1 group and Tehran will continue discussions on Iran’s nuclear issue for at least two more days, but this does not mean that the negotiators have extended the deadline, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said Tuesday.

VIENNA (Sputnik) – Mogherini said that the work on the issue would continue until the text on the Iranian deal is ready.

“We are continuing to negotiate for the next couple of days but it doesn’t mean we are extending our deadline, we are interpreting the deadline in a sensible way,” Mogherini told journalists. “We are not talking about extensions, we are talking about the hours and days that we’ll need to complete the agreement.”

“We [will] stay here to continue together with all the teams, the six teams, to continue the work on the text and to continue the negotiations,” Mogherini said.

She said that the final and most difficult issues remained unsolved in the nuclear talks with Tehran.

“We are starting to discuss at the highest level the last difficult issues. We knew it would be difficult and challenging. We are continuing the negotiations. You might see some ministers leaving in the next couple of hours, and then coming back in the next couple of days.”
