    Tsipras Sends New Request for Bailout Extension to International Creditors

    Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Sunday that he had sent another request to international creditors to extend the bailout program due to expire in the coming days.

    ATHENS (Sputnik) — Tsipras said that such a measure was necessary to ensure a peaceful referendum on July 5.

    "Today I have sent another request to the heads of the ECB and the IMF to extend the program, which expires on June 30," Tsipras said in a televised address.
