Hunger Games: Israel OKs Bill to Force-Feed Palestinian Strikers
TEL AVIV (Sputnik) – The official made the statement ahead of his meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius who is expected to arrive in Jerusalem later in the day. Paris is promoting its UN draft resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the internationally recognized 1967 lines.

"The way to reach agreements is only through bilateral negotiations, and we strongly reject attempts to force international diktat on us in regard to both security and peace," Netanyahu told his cabinet as quoted by his press office.

The proposals that foreign countries have been "trying to force on" Israel have no reference to the country’s national interests, especially security, according to the prime minister.

Israeli Defense Minister Doubts Peace With Palestine Can Be Reached Soon
"They are simply trying to push us into accepting indefensible borders while completely ignoring what will be on the other side of the border. Of course, this will lead to the results that we see and that we experience from the Gaza Strip and from Lebanon. We will not allow this to happen," Netanyahu said.

Palestinians seek the recognition of their independent state on territories partially occupied by Israel after the 1967 Six-Day War, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Israel has been building settlements on the occupied territories, despite objection from the United Nations.

Attempts to settle the conflict have repeatedly failed, with the most recent 2014 round of peace talks between Israel and Palestine bringing no tangible results.
