ST.PETERSBURG (Sputnik) – Argentina can offer Russia food produce to cover the demand of the Russian economy, Argentine’s Economy Minister Axel Kicillof told Sputnik.
“The things that Argentina needs are produced in Russia, the food that Argentina is massively producing are needed for the Russian economy,” Kicillof said on Thursday, on the opening day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The minister added that he was impressed by " importance and scale" of the forum.
Kicillof also said he would participate in the business roundtable called "Latin America: Globalization and new regional economic hubs" to be held on Friday, the second day of the forum.Russia and Argentina have been expanding bilateral ties recently.
In April, Argentina President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a Moscow visit. The sides signed a number of cooperation deals and confirmed that the bilateral ties between Moscow and Buenos Aires are strengthening.
