Preliminary Nuclear Deal With Iran Already Shows Results - Obama
VIENNA (Sputnik) – The lifting of sanctions and embargoes against Iran still remains a sticking point in the P5+1 talks on Tehran’s nuclear energy program, Russia’s envoy to the talks in Vienna said Tuesday.

"For us, the main problem issues include the speed, the moment of lifting the arms embargo, fixing the unprecedented nature of the prepared agreements and the obligation to implement the prerogatives of the [UN] Security Council and observing its procedures at all stages of making the decisions after the deal is struck," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in regard to Russia's priorities in the talks.

Lavrov Sees Serious Potential to Finalize Iran Nuclear Deal
The political directors of the P5+1 negotiations group are likely to meet next week to continue talks on Iran's nuclear energy deal, Ryabkov said.

"There is a process at the expert level. There is no need of a political directors meeting at the moment," Sergei Ryabkov said answering Sputnik's question on when the next meeting may occur.

He did, however, say that a meeting on the political directors level may occur in the beginning of June.

"I think next week, we don't know the day yet, it depends on how the talks proceed until this Friday, but in principle there is a stable process of clearing out the text, and as compared to the last week, there is progress. This is very positive," Ryabkov added.

Ryabkov added that there is still a misunderstanding of military measures in Iran’s nuclear program.

On April 2, Iran and a group of six international negotiators, who have been in talks since November 2013, reached a breakthrough political framework agreement on Tehran's controversial nuclear program following marathon talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne.

The deadline for signing the final comprehensive deal is set for July 1, 2015.
