US Secretary John Kerry brought to Sochi a list of quotes from Russian media which he believes do not truly represent the Moscow-Washington relations, the head of Press and Information Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Kerry has already met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in southern Russia's Sochi, and has begun talks with President Vladimir Putin.

Kerry "presented the Russian side with a list of Russian media quotes which, in his opinion, do not reflect the true potential of Russian-American relations, which, he believes, need to be improved," Maria Zakharova said on Facebook.

Russia's relations with the United States deteriorated greatly amid the crisis in Ukraine. The West accuses Russia of undermining press freedom and contributing to the Ukrainian internal conflict, while Russia has repeatedly denied those allegations.

Recently revealed Wikileaks documents showed that the US State Department reached out to Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) for assistance in convening a meeting of top media executives who could assist in countering the so-called Russian "propaganda."
