Kremlin Chief of Staff Concerned About Western Attempts to Rewrite WWII
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia has played a major role in resolving global problems, together with Europe and the United States, as evidenced by the recent framework accord on Iran's nuclear program, Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergei Ivanov told RT International television channel.

Asked if there will be greater cooperation between Moscow and the West any time soon, the senior Kremlin official said his country had already played "definitely an active part" in tackling some of the biggest challenges of present times.

"Iran is a good example," Ivanov said. "The Lausanne agreement about the Iranian nuclear program is a huge breakthrough," he added.

US-Iran Diplomatic Ties Unlikely to Thaw Despite Nuclear Deal - Iranian FM
In early April, Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers – Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, the United States and Germany – hammered out a framework deal to ensure the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in return for the easing of sanctions against Teheran.

Ivanov warned that a lack of cooperation on global issues could create flashpoints across the world. He pointed to the current turmoil in Libya that, he said, stems from the US-led air raids, which were not authorized by the United Nations.
