US President Barack Obama and his Cuban counterpart met for the first meeting between the countries within the last 50 years.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier, Cuban Leader Raul Castro said that Cuba is ready for a dialogue and respectful coexistence with the United States.

The meeting between the leaders has not been officially scheduled and taking place in the sidelines of the Summit of the Americas is a gathering of countries from the Western Hemisphere.
