US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Iran agreed to cut the number of centrifuges by more than two-thirds over the next ten years.

LAUSANNE (Sputnik) — Iran will cut the number of centrifuges by more than two-thirds in ten years under the deal agreed in Lausanne, Switzerland, US Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday.

The West, fearing that Iran could be developing nuclear weapons, has long urged Tehran to halt uranium enrichment and decrease the number of centrifuges in the country.

"It is a deal in which Iran will cut its installed centrifuges by more than two-thirds for ten years," Kerry said at a press conference.
