MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Talks on Iran's nuclear program with six world powers underway in the Swiss city of Lausanne are showing signs of progress though talks of results are premature, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"There are certain positive signals from Lausanne. Ministers are currently working there, let us wait for their reaction," Peskov told reporters.
A fresh round of talks between Iran and P5+1 group, comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany is currently taking place in Lausanne.
Earlier Monday, the foreign ministers of P5+1 member states met with representatives of Iran for a plenary session on Tehran's disputed nuclear program. The ministers are set to hold bilateral talks during the day.
The P5+1 group and Iran have held several rounds of talks on Iran's nuclear program since November 2013, as the West accuses Tehran of trying to develop nuclear weapons. The Islamic republic repeatedly denied those accusations, stating its uranium enrichment has civilian implications only.
