LAUSANNE (Sputnik) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is going to have a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of the Iran nuclear talks in Lausanne, China's chief negotiator said.
"The two ministers meet frequently and they will have a bilateral meeting," said Wang Qun, Director-General of the Arms Control Department of China's Foreign Ministry.
Qun told journalists the Chinese foreign policy chief was on his way to the Swiss city, where he is expected to meet Sunday with US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
A new round of talks to pressure Iran into dismantling its controversial nuclear program entered day three on Saturday.
The six major world powers – China, Russia, France, Britain, the United States and Germany – have until March 31 to hammer out a political framework accord with Tehran, to be followed by a comprehensive agreement in summer.
