Earlier in the day, UN chief welcomed the beginning of truce in Donbas region, which became effective on February 15 at midnight Ukrainian time (22:00 GMT February 14).

The ceasefire between Kiev-led forces and Donbas militia was one of the agreements brokered by the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France during marathon talks in Minsk on February 12.

Other provisions stipulate the pullback of heavy artillery from the line of contact within two weeks and all-for-all prisoners swap.

Sunday, the head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan said that the truce was generally holding.
