Merkel Sees Only Diplomatic Solution to Ukraine Crisis
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande arrived Friday in Moscow for three-party talks on Ukrainian reconciliation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Merkel, who visited the Ukrainian capital Kiev together with her French counterpart Francois Hollande Thursday, said ahead of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kremlin that a diplomatic solution is seen as the only option for the Ukrainian crisis settlement.

According to various reports, the Merkel-Hollande plan is based on 12 points of the Minsk Protocol with several revisions, including the delineation of conflicting sides along the current separation line between Kiev-led forces and armed militia in self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics.

French President Francois Hollande arrived in Moscow for three-party talks on Ukrainian reconciliation with the Russian president and the German chancellor.

His plane landed in Moscow’s Vnukovo-2 airport on Friday evening, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

Both leaders are to discuss the new reconciliation plan with Russian President Vladimir Putin later on Friday.
