MOSCOW, January 24 (Sputnik) — Sarah Palin confirmed her interest in a 2016 presidential run, in an interview to the Washington Post on Saturday.

"I am. As I said yesterday, I’m really interested in the opportunity to serve at some point," Palin told the Post following an interview to ABC News in which she hinted at a possible run.

Palin also called out Republicans for having "deflated balls," according to The Blaze, comparing the party's performance to that of the embattled New England Patriots NFL team.

Sarah Palin is a former governor of Alaska who was tapped as the Vice Presidential candidate by Republican Senator John McCain's presidential campaign in 2008. After losing the election to Barack Obama's campaign, Sarah Palin acted as a political commentator, starred in a reality show, and participated in the conservative anti-Obama Tea Party movement. She declined to run for president in 2012 despite speculating about the possibility to the press.
