"I predict that today we will form a coalition, today we'll choose the speaker of the house, today we'll choose the prime minister and by the next session on Tuesday we will be ready with the entire Cabinet of Ministers and committees in the Verkhovna Rada [Ukrainian Parliament]," Lutsenko told journalists.
Lutsenko noted that forming a new government is "a rather difficult job," adding, "today we cannot choose the government, not because someone is assigning responsibilities, but because the Constitution requires the prime minister to consult with the majority factions, which propose ministerial candidacies."
Last week, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko confirmed that he would submit Yatsenyuk's nomination as prime minister for approval by parliament as soon as possible.
According to Lutsenko, the Verkhovna Rada may approve Yatsenyuk's candidacy by Thursday. Volodymyr Hroisman will be nominated to the position of parliamentary speaker.
Early parliamentary elections took place in Ukraine on October 26. The Petro Poroshenko Bloc won a total of 132 seats and People's Front captured 82 seats, while Samopomich, Radical Party, Batkivshchyna and the Opposition Bloc, the sixth party that made it to the Verkhovna Rada, received 32, 22, 17 and 27 seats respectively.
On November 21, representatives of five Ukrainian parties signed a draft agreement on the creation of a coalition in the country's parliament.
