VIENNA, November 23 (Sputnik) — There are no discussions on possible extension of talks on Iranian nuclear program between Tehran and the P5+1 group of international mediators, comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, a source in Iranian delegation told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
“There are no discussions on the extension of talks on Iran. Everyone is working on reaching a political agreement. Iran is concentrated on it, and even during internal consultations there is no discussion on the extension of talks,” the source said.
The final round of talks on the Iranian nuclear program between Tehran and the P5+1 group kicked off in Vienna on Tuesday.
Tehran claims its nuclear development is aimed purely at civilian needs, such as meeting the country's growing energy needs. However, the West suspects Iran of developing a nuclear weapon under the guise of a peaceful program.
In 2013, the international negotiators agreed to reach a long-term deal with Tehran that would guarantee a peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program by July 2014, but the deadline was later postponed to November 24, 2014.
