Olga Slov, deputy head of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Moscow, stated that Israel's Justice Ministry is considering severe measures for public calls for the destruction of Israeli state.

MOSCOW, November 14 (Sputnik) — Israel's Justice Ministry is considering harsh measures including revoking Israeli citizenship for public calls for the destruction of Israeli state, Olga Slov, deputy head of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Moscow, said Friday.

"The opportunity to revoke [Israeli] citizenship for those who overtly call for the destruction of the Israeli state has been reviewed lately. I do not know whether it is possible, it will be discussed in the Justice Ministry," Olga Slov told journalists at a briefing, adding that "the issue of destroying terrorists’ homes" would also be considered.

Earlier in November, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resumed the discussions over adopting a bill that would allow the Prime Minister's Office instead of the Minister of the Interior to cancel citizenship.

On November 7, Netanyahu ordered the destruction of the homes of the Arabs who took part in the recent attacks on Jews.

One of the main reasons for the recently amplified clashes between Arabs and Jews, including riots and terror attacks, is the alleged intention of Israel to re-consider the status quo on the Temple Mount in favor of Jews. However, Israeli authorities have repeatedly stated Israel does not have such plans.

Al-Aqsa Mosque compound located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem is considered to be Islam's third holiest site after Mecca and Medina. It is governed by the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf trust.

On Thursday Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority agreed to take practical steps to defuse tensions over the Temple Mount.
