KIEV, October 27 (RIA Novosti) - The Opposition Bloc is passing the election threshold after 0.17 percent of the vote count in the Sunday parliamentary election in Ukraine, the Central Election Commission said early on Monday.

According to latest data displayed on screens at the CEC headquarters in Kiev, the bloc has so far received 5.59 percent of the votes on the party lists.

People's Front led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, leads the ballot with 24.41 percent, followed by Petro Poroshenko's Bloc with 21.7 percent and Oleh Lyashko's nationalist Radical Party with 10.85 percent.

Early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on Sunday. Ukrainians went to the polls to vote in 423 members of parliament — 225 of them from party lists and 198 in single-candidate constituencies. The electoral threshold has been set at five percent. Voting results are expected to be announced on Wednesday.

The Opposition Bloc is a Ukrainian party advocating closer ties with Russia. According to the party's Resolution, the Opposition block demands a thorough investigation into the war crimes committed in an armed conflict in southeastern Ukraine, including the tragedy in Odessa on May 2 and into the mass murders of civilians in military actions area. The party also calls for reimbursements for victims of military actions and for social protection of the Ukrainian refugees.

The Opposition Bloc has managed to significantly boost its rating in the run-up to the October 26 parliamentary election by carrying out an aggressive advertising campaign and efforts to disassociate itself from the pro-Russian Party of Regions.
