EDINBURG, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Scotland's Stirling council area said "No" to Scottish independence, the official results released early Friday showed.

The majority of 60 percent voted "No," with 40 percent voting to leave the United Kingdom. "No" won by 37,153 to 25,010.

Total votes cast was 62,225, which is a turnout of 90.1 percent.

The city of Stirling is the largest city in Central Scotland.
