The head of the Ukrainian Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko told President Petro Poroshenko that the agency had uncovered a terrorist group with links to the Russian Federal Security Service, providing yet no concrete evidence.

MOSCOW, August 17 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the Ukrainian Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko told President Petro Poroshenko that the agency had uncovered a terrorist group with links to the Russian Federal Security Service, providing yet no concrete evidence.

A corresponding statement was posted on the website of the Ukrainian president early Sunday.

“The Ukrainian Security Service has detained six members of the terrorist group suspected in planning an explosion at Kharkiv Armor Repair Plant on August 3,” the statement read.

According to Nalyvaichenko, the detained individuals were also planning attacks on other strategic facilities in Kharkiv Region.

The head of the Security Service added that the terrorist group allegedly “had links to employees of the Russian Federal Security Service.”

The statement elaborated that “a large number of weapons, including assault rifles, grenade launchers and explosives, was seized from the detained.”

Russia has not yet commented on the allegations.
