The Krasnodar higher military aviation school named after Hero of the USSR Anatoly Serov resumed tutoring female military pilots in 2017.

The modern Russian Army has about 45,000 female contract soldiers (as of 2018). Most of them are in the signals corps, logistics units, medical service corps, and at military colleges and universities. According to the Russian Defence Ministry's data from 2018, about 315,000 women are in civilian posts in the defence department while more than 1,300 women are studying at military schools.
