Volcanic Sand and Pacific Waves: Surfing Festival in Russia’s Kamchatka

Subscribe
The SnowaveFest surfing festival was held for the first time in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a city in Kamchatka Krai, in Russia’s Far East.

In Russia, there are only a few places suitable for surfing, which include Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, Primorye Region, Leningrad Region and the settlement of Teriberka in Murmansk Region. But the Kamchatka Peninsula washed by the Pacific Ocean is a unique surfing destination: you can surf here year-round. There is no need to wait for waves — they are always there.
