Chinese New Year Magical Lantern Festival in London

Illuminating outdoor installations of life-sized and oversized lanterns have been set up in London as part of the "Explore The Silk Road" festival to celebrate the 2017 Chinese New Year of the Rooster.

The lantern scenes are meant to represent and highlight the significant route of trade and culture from Europe to Ancient China.

"This year you will come here to explore a circle road in a form of lanterns. So start from the modern lanterns, across Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and come back to China. You will see loads of difference and discover the culture different parts of the world," Ian Xiang, Creative Co-Director of the Magical Lantern Festival, told Sputnik.
