The 105-story pyramid-shaped Ryugyong Hotel towers over residential apartments and snow-covered trees and fields in Pyongyang on December 3.

Winter has vibrantly whitened the landscape of North Korea and covered the streets of one of the world's most mysterious and closed countries with a soft carpet of snowflakes. Sputnik gives you a unique look into the life of North Koreans in winter.

So amazing -- how great it would be if all the political BS would come to an end and North Korea can resume ties with all nations and becomes easy to visit and explore. Know that won't happen anytime soon, but one never knows ... Russia's positive, global cooperation policies, could again make the world a far better place than it is now. Let's hope it happens sooner than later...

choticastile, To hear the US Government and Media talk one would think that North Korea is a hell on Earth for its people. I'm pleased to see that that is just another case of them demonizing a country who will not follow the dictates of Washington. I can't say that I'm surprised by the truth.

Randall Lee Hilburn, Agree and also its heartening to note how peoples' minds are increasingly opening to the truth -- just as so many of us began to despair that it would never happen --- somehow this year it has accelerated! I do think Putin's straight talk at news conferences, his legendary speeches -- straight as a dye, all served people to question and HEAR him! Hear that solving conflicts through diplomacy, through negotiation and cooperation, is the only way. Heard him loud and clear telling Americans not to give up their arms and to re-evaluate their Constitution and Bill of Rights etc -- all this finally began hitting home and Russian media too -- presenting all sides -- made them commit to further research, which then confirmed RT and Sputnik and Fortruss, gave them the truth. People are thirsting for truth because we've all been bedevilled for so long. I believe good is coming, will flourish, but it will not happen overnight . Do you remember a movie, "Educating Rita" -- very worthwhile if you have not (old 'seventies movie) with Michael Caine -- well now I am saying maybe its a question of Russia, "Educating the USA"! Can one even imagine how many countries the US has damaged just through sanctions, let alone invasions and the death and destruction that followed -- through their ongoing push/click button (drone) wars! God alone knows, it sickens one to the soul. Take care and thanks for reply -- !

choticastile, This is a difficult idea to convey in any kind of concise manner, so I'll try to give you a brief introduction to it. I actually represent a current of American political philosophy which has been suppressed and distorted for the past centaury and a half. It involves the original idea of what the United States was supposed to be all about. For all of its faults, and there were many, it was never supposed to be what it has become now, an existential threat to every other nation on the planet, except of course for Israel. I would be curious to know what Putin's understanding of the US Constitution and the Bill Of Rights actually is. If he is talking about the original philosophy behind them then he truly is a statesman of genius.
For that would mean he truly understands the nature of the identity crises the USA is in the midst of right now.

Randall Lee Hilburn, Quoting you -- "If he is talking about the original philosophy behind them then he truly is a statesman of genius." -- He is talking about exactly that! Can guarantee you that. Putin knows about suffering and while his empathy and compassion for others is legendary, he does not hesitate to crap out the self serving, who neglect their duties to the people. He is completely committed first off, to the inalienable rights of human beings, of human values -- all qualities portending to it, as he is widely read and states that all human beings and countries should be treated with respect and have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Especially citizens should be educated, so that informed about their own needs, the needs of their people and country, this knowledge enables them to elect officials with integrity as demanded by an honest and transparent peoples government, committed to the will and good of its people and providing citizens a stable and secure future, while their living standards raised, the people become productive citizens, capable of building strong economies for their respective countries and their sovereignty protected by incontrovertible, stringently upheld, international law , cooperating within its frame work with other countries seamlessly. No global policeman lording it over any country, while controlling and plundering its resources.

"For that would mean he truly understands the nature of the identity crises the USA is in the midst of right now." He does. You may recall from American history, that when the fledgling American Republic was struggling to defend itself against Anglo-Saxon Britain and France, it was the Russian Tsar of the time, who came to their assistance and thwarted their ongoing colonial imperialist ambitions. Just search and check out that part of American and Russian history -- or maybe you know it, but if you don't it was a grand battle and makes one feel proud of both America and Russia. Yes, all countries have lived through violent times, ruled by despots and murder and mayhem the rule of the day... and as you said, flaws remain in what we term democracies, but at least what the Founding Fathers of the Republic gifted America, IMHO, to this day is the purest form of democracy. Unfortunately they were up against, what at the time was still known as the Bolshevik Masonic Cult, headed by mainly Rothschild and Rockefeller dynasties, which actually became known as the Zionists, but still in accordance with the Protocols of Zion (authenticated as true), embracing the same ungodly tenets. In my opinion these people are worshippers of Satan, as they hijacked the Talmud and pure Judaism. That is why today, there are so many genuine Jews rising up against them. Of course, its for you to make up your mind, I am simply giving my understanding and opinion. I believe all nations have good and bad, but the Illuminati or global elite, are definitely a breed apart, and in full agreement with you, they own and control virtually 80% of all global resources/corporate assets and via their central banks throughout the world (all owned by the BOE), manipulate and dictate markets and individual government policies. Putin was most probably also inaugurated as a member of the elite clique, but guess when he saw how and by whom 9/11 had been perpetrated, he said "Nyet!" and got off the bus. He had great understanding and very quickly, that the US expected Russia to continue remaining a vassal of the US and passionate about his country and people, he would not let this continue and would give his life to free Russia forever from this imperialist yoke. There is so much we still don't know the truth about, but I believe the truth is slowly but surely coming out and once authenticated, eventually will be available in full in the public domain. Putin told Americans to never give up their arms, he told them to wake up as't were and is very supportive of ordinary Americans resisting the radical warmongering bstds in Washington. So I do think that slowly but surely, these fiends will be brought to their knees, have to pay for what they've done to humanity, but although humankind will become free, I think it won't happen fast and do think much blood will flow, before its done.

Bloody sick and awfully sad, but better we again regain what the US had for a few precious decades and then lost to the global bankster gangster elite, who pretend to be Jewish, but actually don't follow or believe in the Supreme Being, as Lucifer is their god. Sure you know about the Khazars and their history -- at first dubbed as conspiracy theories, today it is recognized as the truth. Zionists well know that they cannot hide behind their anti-Semitic accusation rhetoric, which does not hold water anymore. People only want the truth and deserve it. It is the truth that will set us free, allow us to see how frail and easily mislead we were and mature us beyond the barriers imposed on us by a global so-called elite few, bent on keeping us divided employing religion, race and culture as weapons to get us to hate and destroy each other -- easier for them to enslave us then. However, its too late! -- People are wizening up fast and whereas many still remain in despair, others are enlightening them that a brighter future at last is awaiting humankind. There is always hope. Putin said once -- "Love is the meaning of life." Here is the link to it --

I am not ashamed to say, my eyes leaked when I read it. Only other president who comes near to Putin is Uruguay's erstwhile president, Jose Mojica -- but Uruguay is a tiny country, compared to Russia, the largest country in the world and needs not only a strong leader, but a leader who way beyond politics, incorruptible, places his people and country's needs first and above all.
